2025 New Annual Grower Application

Thank you for your interest in joining River City Flower Exchange! We are Central Virginia's first all local flower market. We value our growers and aim to be the prime sales outlet for cut flower growers in central Virginia. 

We are now accepting applications for Annual Participating Growers for the 2025 Season running from Mid March 2025 through Mid November 2025.  After completing one year as an Annual Participating Grower and if deemed to be a good fit, growers will be eligible to continue on as Participating Growers or will be eligible to apply for Coop Membership.

Before applying, please thoroughly read through this application. If you meet the requirements please complete this application and submit the application fee. Application and application fee must be submitted by January 31, 2025 to be considered for the 2025 market. If your application is selected, River City Flower Exchange will notify you by February 10, 2025.

Requirements:

-At least three full seasons of professional cut flower growing experience (for example, selling to designers, selling to shops, or farmers market.) Similar experience may be accepted, questions may follow.

-Minimum of $5,000 in cut flower/foliage sales per year 

-Ability to follow the weekly availability listing and delivery schedule of RCFE. Must be able to drop off orders on Tuesdays between 12:00pm - 5:00pm to the new RCFE location in Richmond. 

-Agree to have a Rooted account and must maintain weekly product availability on Rooted.

-You will be required to set up a Rooted account and will be responsible for that fee. 2025 Rooted price is normally $165 but by joining RCFE you will receive a collective discount of $100 off. That remaining $65 account fee will be paid directly to Rooted. This amount is not included in the Annual Participating Grower dues.  

-If you are accepted, there is a $350 fee for Annual Participating Grower dues

-EIN and Sales and Use Tax ID

-Ability to pack, organize and label orders according to RCFE standards

Some important things to note:

-River City Flower Exchange is currently in the process of finding a new home but we anticipate that we will be opening our new location in the Richmond area mid March. Annual Growers would begin providing product to the market at the beginning of April.

-Annual Growers retain 65% of their sales and RCFE retains 35% to cover administrative and operations expenses. 

-As part of getting to know the co-op and how it operates, Annual Growers will be required to work at RCFE in some capacity (helping with pop-ups, assisting during market hours, tabling for off-site events, etc.) a total of 20 hours throughout the season (March through mid November). Some portion of hours can be fulfilled remotely for project based tasks.
